What we are

Telemedan is :

Chad is one of the poorest countries in Central Africa and in the sub-region and faces two major health problems: the scarcity of doctors and medical deserts. With a population of 17 million, Chad has only about 2,000 doctors registered with the national medical association. These statistics are far from the WHO standard, which recommends at least 23 doctors per 10,000 inhabitants. This situation is particularly difficult for people living in rural areas (representing 78% of the Chadian population), for whom access to a hospital or a doctor is an obstacle course. They are therefore obliged to spend their low income and savings to travel to the capital N’Djamena, where the health facilities are, thus increasing the risk of aggravation of their health case.
Despite all this, once the patients arrive in town, they find themselves obliged to wait for hours or even days before getting a consultation with a specialist or a general practitioner, because the doctors in town are overwhelmed by the demand.

We propose Telemedan, a medical teleconsultation terminal made in Chad, touchscreen, equipped with software and a kit of medical objects, all connected to the Internet and running on solar energy. It is linked to a mobile application to allow the sharing of data and information between specialists from different hospitals.
Telemedan will allow the patient to have access to a doctor for a consultation anywhere in the country without having to travel.during the teleconsultation, the doctor guides the patient or the assistant by videoconference to take the physiological constants (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, cardiac analysis,ECG etc.) and the medical examinations that he/she deems necessary for the diagnosis using the panel of medical devices gathered.this will lead to an effective diagnosis and then to a medical prescription written remotely by the doctor and which can be printed by the patient via the terminal.
